Set back from a tree-lined garden square in exclusive Knightsbridge, with prime shopping nearby at Harrods, Sloane Street and along the King's Road, Egerton House is in a prime location close to the Natural History Museum and with Hyde Park just down the street. With only 29 rooms, each one sumptuously decorated with antique furniture, oil paintings and French porcelain, this is truly an intimate five-star boutique hotel. The beautiful dining room of Egerton House Hotel is the ideal setting for cozy afternoon tea. Serving the finest leaf teas, liquid refreshment comes with a choice of homemade cakes including tempting pastries like passion fruit cheesecake, lemon tart, blackberry macaroon, and chocolate brownies with minted ice topping. Freshly cut sandwiches are filled with organic smoked salmon, free range egg mayonnaise, cucumber and cream cheese, and Coronation chicken, all sandwiched between different types of bread. Added to these are freshly home baked plain and fruit scones served with Devonshire clotted cream and a selection of preserves. They even do a 'Little Prince and Princess Tea' for children under 12 which includes a selection of sandwiches and scones with Devonshire clotted cream, cute.
