2nd Investec Ashes Test: England v AustraliaSince 2009, England have generously bettered their old foe Australia in Test cricket - and Alastair Cook's side will enter the 2013 Ashes series on the back of two consecutive series victories in cricket's oldest rivalry. The 2010-11 series Down Under was manna from the cricketing heavens for England fans: the 3-1 series win was the only one in which a team had won three Tests by innings margins and the first time England has scored 500 or more four times in a single series. This Second Ashes Test at Lord's comes just four days after the series opener at Trent Bridge and will therefore be crucial. In the last Ashes Test at Lord's, in 2009, England won by 115 runs thanks to a five-wicket haul by Andy Flintoff just days after he had announced his impending retirement. Can Cook's new-look side continue the domination ushered in by Flintoff and co?

While Lord's Cricket Ground has long been seen as the "home of cricket" and the game's spiritual headquarters, its importance does not lie merely in its historic past.
