Band of HorsesThe five members of Band of Horses have given their sweeping style of Southern rock a grittier, more rock n roll feel since their 2010's Grammy-nominated album Infinite Arms. And on Friday 12th July Londoners can see the South Carolina-based band play live when they bring their country-tinged rock to Somerset House for the Summer Series, before setting off for a round of festivals across Europe. With their latest album, Mirage Rock, the band have adpoted "a new swagger", according to music magazine NME. But bandleader Ben Bridwell "could sing the shipping forecast and make it sound wounded and yearning", so says The Guardian.

About Somerset House

Somerset House, once the site of a spectacular Tudor palace, now includes a magnificent 18th century art gallery housing celebrated collections belonging to the Courtauld Institute Gallery, as well as the Embankment Galleries (which replaced the Hermitage Rooms and The Gilbert Collection - the latter re-opened at the Victoria and Albert Museum in June 2009).
