Books About Town: Bloomsbury TrailThe Bloomsbury area has long been associated with literary types making it an ideal area for a Books About Town trail as 11 painted benches come to this area of London for 10 weeks this summer. Search for benches shaped like open books and painted with literary characters as you follow in the footsteps of the famous authors of books like Hercule Poirot and the Greenshore Folly and James Bond, both in Bloomsbury Square Gardens. Survellance is the theme of the Nineteen Eighty-Four bench and Sherlock Holmes, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's maverick investigator, is the subject of a bench at Woburn Square Garden. Become a detective and hunt down the rest of the benches on the Bloomsbury Trail, one of four trails along with the Greenwich Trail, City Trail, and the Riverside Trail which takes Thames views along the South Bank including City Hall and the Globe.
