BoudicaGina McKee, well-known for her appearances in award-winning films such as Notting Hill, Atonement and In The Loop, plays the title role in the world premiere of Tristan Bernays' brand new play, Boudica this September at Shakespeare's Globe. Directed by Eleanor Rhode, the ancient history play tells the story of one of Britain's most infamous women, who was a queen, a warrior and a rebel. The epic tale of power, politics and love is set in AD 61, Britannia and follows Boudica, the widow of The King of the Iceni, as she tries to claim her rightful throne.

About Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

This replica of the Shakespeare's 16th century theatre, reconstructed just 200 yards from its original site, is the brainchild of American actor and director Sam Wanamaker. Built in wood and thatch, using techniques from 400 years ago, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre opened in 1996. More about Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
