Bring Up the BodiesThe Royal Shakespeare Company's new dramatisation of Hilary Mantel's Man Booker Prize winning novels 'Bring Up the Bodies' and 'Wolf Hall' play in two parts as both transfer to the West End and run in rep at the Aldwych Theatre. Directed by Jeremy Herrin and most of the original show's cast, including Ben Miles as Cromwell, Nathaniel Parker as the king and Lydia Leonard as Anne Boleyn will transfer too. Adapted by Mike Poulton, this production shows Anne Boleyn now Queen, her path to Henry's side cleared by Cromwell. But Henry remains without a male heir, and the conflict with the Catholic Church has left England dangerously isolated as France and the Holy Roman Empire ominously manoeuvre for position. Tickets sold out quickly for the run in Stratford so this is likely to do so too.

About Aldwych Theatre

With the Waldorf Hotel sandwiched in between them, the Aldwych and Novello (formerly the Strand) theatres were originally built to work as a pair. The Aldwych is probably most noted for being the home of the Royal Shakespeare Company (from 1960 to 1982), and for Ben Travers' famed Aldwych Farces, which played here from 1925 to 1933.
