The British Youth Opera perform Paul Bunyan, Benjamin Britten's first opera, at Peacock Theatre. The British Youth Opera performances give Londoners the chance to enjoy the next generation of opera stars and 'the cream of young talent after music college, but just before the agents swoop' (The Times). A collaboration with W H Auden, Paul Bunyan is an easy going musical that pre-empts that of Bernstein and Sondheim. Through a cast of 44 singers, it tells of the founding of America by a motley band of pioneers, led by the folklore hero as tall as the Empire State. Book tickets to Paul Bunyan at the Peacock Theatre today.
