Take an immersive audio-visual backstage journey with Concrete Dreams, a free tour which marks the reopening of Queen Elizabeth Hall, Purcell Room and includes previously unseen archives of The Hayward Gallery. Follow in the footsteps of the legendary artists who performed here including David Bowie and Pink Floyd. Poetry recordings, film footage and print materials recall the stars who've performed here since the '60s including Deep Purple, London Sinfonietta, Imrat Khan, Tyrannosaurus Rex and Daniel Barenboim. Visiting an artists' lounge, you'll get to feel the pre-concert jitters in the dressing rooms before a surprise finale. The exhibition culminates in a Concrete Dreams Weekend, three days of performances by artists who share a history with these performance spaces.
About Southbank Centre: Queen Elizabeth Hall
Queen Elizabeth Hall is the second largest concert hall at Southbank Centre, presenting a diverse programme that covers the whole range of music and performing arts. The Royal Festival Hall's smaller sister venue Queen Elizabeth Hall ensures that even when there is a long-running show, the Southbank Centre can have almost nightly performances by world-class orchestras.
