ElektraCharles Edwards's production of Elektra is one of three productions at the Royal Opera House celebrating the 150th anniversary of the birth of Richard Strauss. American soprano Christine Goerke sings the title role for the first time at the Covent Garden venue, appearing alongside Canadian soprano Adrianne Pieczonka as Chrysothemis and Michaela Schuster as Klytamnestra. Andris Nelsons conducts this gripping drama set in early 20th century Europe.

About Royal Opera House

This impressive building in the heart of Covent Garden has been playing host to major stars of the classical music world since 1858. The third theatre to be located on this site, today's Royal Opera House is the result of a reconstruction in the 1990s (although the main auditorium is part of the original building).
