From Club to Catwalk: London Fashion in the 80sStone washed jeans, bat wings, puffball skirts, if you're old enough to remember these 'fashions' then From Club to Catwalk: London Fashion in the 80s is for you. The Victoria & Albert Museum takes a step back in time to Thatcher's England when designers like Betty Jackson, John Galliano and Vivienne Westwood ruled the catwalks. In those days it was a short hop from couture to club wear as fashion magazines like i-D and Blitz promoted the trend for theatrical dressing.

About Victoria and Albert (V & A) Museum

The Victoria and Albert Museum (or V & A as everyone calls it) was originally founded in 1852 to inspire and educate British designers and manufacturers. Today it houses over 4 million items spanning centuries and hundreds of cultures. The stunning collection covers European, Indian, Chinese, Korean, Japanese and Islamic artefacts ranging from ceramics, glass, metalwork and sculpture to costume, armour, weaponry and furniture.
