Gabrielle DucombleOn Sunday 14th July 2013 (Bastille day to our French friends) Gabrielle Ducomble, who first found fame in 2003 when she reached the final of French 'Pop Idol', performs a free concert at Primo Bar, the cocktail bar within the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge. At this Bastille day special, Gabrielle performs classic songs by Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Serge Gainsbourg and Astor Piazzolla but gives them her own interpretation. Backed by her band - on guitar, accordion and violin - enjoy an evening of beautiful melodies, inventive solos and Parisian-style jazz and tango while sipping on a 'Guillotine' cocktail - vodka and grand marnier with lemon grass muddled with fresh raspberry and fresh apple. Chef Walter Ishizuka is launching new menu on Bastille day at Brasserie Joel, also part of Park Plaza, with dishes inspired by his home region in the provence of Cote d'Azur. The new menu - which includes suckling pork shoulder with grilled apple and sweet potato puree and whole chargrilled seabass with pomme puree - will launch on Bastille day and is available from 12noon until 2pm.
