Greenwich and Docklands International FestivalThe whole of Greenwich comes alive for the Greenwich and Docklands International Festival, a nine day free festival of street performances, art and dancing in the streets. The festival always opens with an epic outdoor spectacular and this year The House, by video artist Tal Rosner and German outdoor theatre company Pan.Optikum, marks the 400th anniversary of The Queen's House and its re-opening this year. There's more street theatre from Polish company Teatr Biuro Podrozy who perform the premiere of Silence, a mix of physical theatre, fire, puppetry and music at Bethnal Green Gardens. Don't miss the two-day Greenwich Fair where more than 22 productions bring circus, theatre, dance, street games, cabaret, live art and mass participation to Greenwich. Highlights include Block, a new show from NoFitState Circus and Motionhouse Dance; Ye Gods, in which an apocalypse is unleashed across the houses and streets of a model village; and a 21st century morality play, Peregrinus, from Polish theatre company KTO.

About Greenwich

The London Borough of Greenwich lies on the south bank of the Thames. Rich in maritime history, Greenwich also has an outstanding architectural heritage. Many of its buildings are designed by well known English architects, including the Royal Naval College, the National Maritime Museum and the Royal Observatory built by Sir Christopher Wren for King Charles II.
