HowTheLightGetsIn FestivalThe world's largest philosophy and music festival, HowTheLightGetsIn comes to London for the second year this September. Hosted by the Institute of Art and Ideas and taking place in the grounds of Kenwood House on Hampstead Heath, the festival has a programme of debates, talks, music and comedy, bringing together more than 100 events in total. Conservative MP Rory Stewart, journalist Joanna Gosling, scientist Rupert Sheldrake and former Green Party leader Natalie Bennett are among the speakers this year while debate topics include Metropolis Untamed, Post Truth and New Lies, The End of Left and Right, and The Godless World. Music wise, expect everything from dance music to intimate singer-songwriter gigs and cabaret to DJ sets.

About Kenwood House

A rich collection of famous paintings are housed within the walls of this neo-Classical villa perched by a lake on top of Hampstead Heath. Works by Rembrandt, Vermeer, Turner, Reynolds and Gainsborough form the famous Iveagh Bequest, handed down to the state by the owner of Kenwood House, brewing magnate Edward Cecil Guinness.
