LIFT FestivalThe London International Festival of Theatre (or LIFT, if you prefer) returns to the capital in 2016 at theatres, arts venues and other sites around London. There's a huge range of events, including live performances, art exhibitions and installations. Events take place on the streets, squares and promenades of London from Canning Town to Harlesden and major venues include the Barbican Centre, Royal Court Theatre, Southbank Centre and Institute of Contemporary Arts. The 2016 programme includes Stella, a play about Victorian cross dressers Fanny and Stella; The Empathy Museum, presenting a series of installations and events bringing you closer to other people's lives; Depart, the latest piece by Australian circus company Circa; and Everything By My Side, an installation that invites you to get tucked up in bed and listen to childhood stories.
