London International Animation FestivalThe London International Animation Festival is a showcase of creative animation taking place at the Barbican and throughout the city with gala premieres, Q&As, workshops and the Best of the Festival screening. Now in its eleventh year, the Festival aims to dispel the myth that animation is little more than cartoons for children by screening a broad range of entertaining and provocative films from across the planet. The UK's largest festival of its kind, LIAF features a comprehensive ten-day programme featuring the best of the international indie animation scene, encapsulating every style, genre and technique possible, with over 200 films including many British premieres. Children and adults also get the opportunity to take part in a drop-in animation workshop and the LIAF Flipbook challenge lead by acclaimed animator Elizabeth Hobbs during the afternoon of 25th October 2014.

About Barbican Screen

While the Barbican Screen is hardly one of London's plushest cinemas (it's housed in the bowels of the Barbican Centre building), it's well worth a visit for its mix of quirky, independent films as well as the latest releases. It also hosts oodles of film festivals on every topic imaginable, Q and As with directors. More about Barbican Screen
