One of London's longest running comic outings, NewsRevue started out way back in 1979. The premise is simple; two boys and two girls take to the stage for a satirical look at the week's news. The formula's been done before and since (Weekending, That was the Week That Was and Have I Got News for You etc), but Newsrevue is live four nights a week. Its staying power is testament to the excellent writing and talented performers. The topical nature of the show and ever-changing carousel of performers and writers has meant it has stayed really fresh. The venue is fantastic too; the Canal Cafe Theatre sits atop The Bridge House, a delightful pub bang in the middle of the canals and barges of Little Venice.
