PROCESSIONSOn Sunday 10th June 2018, London joins Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh as tens of thousands walk together to mark one hundred years since the first British women won the right to vote. A sea of green, white and violet, women wearing the colours of the suffrage movement will together appear as a vast river of colour flowing through the city streets from Park Lane to Westminster. At the heart of each procession will be specially created banners created by community groups and well known artists including Lucy Orta, designer Lucy Tammam and Rita Duffy. One of the UK's largest ever mass participation artworks, PROCESSIONS is produced by Artichoke (the organisation behind the Lumiere light festivals, who paraded The Sultan's Elephant through the streets of London) and is commissioned by 14-18 NOW, the UK's arts programme for the First World War centenary.
