As part of Britten 100, the London-wide festival celebrating the centenary of the great composer, the British Library presents Poetry in Sound: The Music of Benjamin Britten (1913-1976), a new exhibition in The Folio Society Gallery. This free exhibition explores the poetic and literary influences on Britten's work from William Blake to William Shakespeare through photographs, concert programmes and previously unpublished recordings of his music and runs from Friday 31st May to Sunday 15th September 2013.

With over 150 million items, a copy of every publication produced in the UK and Ireland, artwork by artists such as Antony Gormley and Eduardo Paolozzi, and a host of historically momentous works - including the Magna Carta, the Gutenberg Bible, Shakespeare's First Folio and the Lindisfarne Gospels - a guided tour around the British Library is the best way to take it all in.
