Few photographers are well known enough to go by their first name alone. But Rankin, who first came to fame with Dazed & Confused, is renowned across the world as the creator of stunning, highly defined imagery. More than just a celebrity snapper, he has shot prominent advertising and charity campaigns. With this exhibition, Shoot Me, Rankin!, he proves that he can make 'ordinary' people look beautiful too. Described as a constantly evolving "portrait of contemporary Britain", Rankin has taken one thousand people from across the country as his subjects. Some portraits have already been taken but others will be created during the exhibition so visitors can watch the man who makes Kate Moss look good at work. Of the thousands who applied, Rankin made the final selection choosing people who have a sense of style or an interesting life story that appealed to him. Shoot Me, Rankin! is part of the Rankin Live! exhibition at the Truman Brewery which includes a retrospective of his work - one ticket gets you into both shows.
