Richmond Literature FestivalBroadcasters Andrew Marr, Jonathan Dimbleby and Olympic rower Greg Searle are just some of the speakers taking part in the Richmond Literarture Festival which returns to Richmond this November for its 21st year. The list of confirmed participants includes an impressive line-up of political commentators, well known writers, broadcasters, comedians and poets. There's a huge variety of respected writers and novelists taking part so it won't be hard to pick out at least one you'd like to see. Events take place at various venues across Richmond including Richmond Theatre, Orleans House Gallery and The Literary Salon, a pop-up shop where live literature events are staged for all ages. The programme includes a podcasting workshop, tea, cake and storytelling, poetry, and performances from renowned spoken word artists. There's also a special young people's festival which includes activities for the very young - from aged two upwards. See www.richmondliterature.com for full details and a to download a brochure.

 

About Richmond Theatre

The Victorian Richmond Theatre, which opened on 18 September 1899 with a performance of As You Like It, is one of the best examples of work by theatrical architect Frank Matcham. The interior is ornate, with lots of gilt detailing and plush fabrics. More about Richmond Theatre
