Rugby Expo , the biggest global gathering for the business of rugby returns to Twickenham for the 2012 incarnation. Following a successful debut event last autumn which saw more than 1,000 attendees, this years event aims to be bigger and better and is scheduled in the run up to the hotly anticipated England v Australia QBE Autumn International. With a conference and workshop programme split on each day, the content will focus on the professional and grass root forms of the game and a stellar line-up of guest speakers has been devised from leading sports organisations, media outlets and union and league clubs. Delegates can register their attendance by visiting www.rugbyexpo.com.
The home of English rugby at Twickenham is England's second largest stadium (after Wembley Stadium), with steeply banked stands that create an impressive roar when an international match is in progress. While rugby remains very much a second-choice sport in the rest of southern England, the stadium has had a profound effect on the whole surrounding area: Twickenham is the only part of London where the pubs will show rugby matches in preference to football, and where you're far more likely to hear Swing Low, Sweet Chariot than any football club songs.
