Taking a different spin on Shakespeare-in-the-Park, Synomatic Productions present Shakespeare-in-the-Car Park. The open-air production of Hamlet sees Brixton represent the title role, focusing on the struggles that the area endured in the 1980s. With the streets of Brixton suffering from serious social and economic problems, by 1980 a revolt was impending and the residents were brimming with discontent of government neglect. In this performance Synomatic show Hamlet as the struggle of Brixton and his family as the manifestation of this struggle. Bring a picnic and a blanket and enjoy live music and the aroma of Caribbean food from Brixton market.
