The Barber of Seville It's been two centuries since 'The Barber of Seville' made its premiere - and Rossini's masterful prequel to 'The Marriage of Figaro' remains as popular as ever. This 25th anniversary ENO revival sees conductor Jaime Martin making his operatic debut, adding a suitably Hispanic touch to the tuneful, ironic and uproariously funny production. Bronze-voiced baritone Benedict Nelson stars as Figaro, charismatic soprano Lucy Crowe returns as the feisty Rosina, while Andrew Shore reprises his "classic portrayal" (The Guardian) of Doctor Bartolo.
