Concluding the Classic Spring Oscar Wilde Season, The Importance of Being Earnest is staged at the Vaudeville Theatre this summer. Olivier Award-winner Sophie Thompson takes the role of Lady Bracknell and the production also stars Jeremy Swift as Reverend Chasuble and Sinead Matthews as Gwendolyn Fairfax. Wilde's much-loved masterpiece brings love, logic and language into the fold, tackling the topics of romantic entanglements and dual identities.

About Vaudeville Theatre

Designed by CJ Phipps, the Vaudeville is the third theatre to be built on this site. The current Vaudeville opened on 23rd February 1926 with a revue called RSVP. One of the theatre's major successes was in 1954 with the musical 'Salad Days', starring Julian Slade and Deborah Reynolds. More about Vaudeville Theatre
