At The Nitery chef, food writer and broadcaster Gizzi Erskine delivers a restaurant with the atmosphere of a night club to St Martins Lane hotel. Temporarily taking over St Martins Lane Kitchen from 13th February until 30 April 2020, the pop-up brings with it a playful take on classic French, American and British dishes. Small plates of devilled eggs with roast chicken crackling and oysters are served in an atmosphere inspired by hedonistic 20th century Parisian 'niteries' or bohemian restaurants. After starters of iced roast beetroot and buttermilk soup and steak tartare on marmite toast tuck into main courses like flagoelet dauphinoise, goat cutlets and bisque and paella rice as well as woodfired shellfish. Finish with something sweet - like chocolate mousse with Horlicks cream - or savoury: cheeses with Hackney honeycomb. Sundays see a carvery station set up, serving beef, lamb or pork with all the trimmings followed by a desserts trolley where sweets are topped with pouring cream or ice cream.

The chefs showcase a selection of South-East Asian dishes including sesame crusted tuna, duck red curry and blue swimmer crab fried rice, as well as much loved Western comfort food such as fish and chips, mushroom risotto, burgers and sandwiches.
