London Riots RevisitedPress Association photographer Lewis Whyld, who captured some of the more memorable images of the London 2011 riots, has collated a selection of pictures he took and presents them in London Riots Revisited, a week-long exhibition at The Strand Gallery. Many of the images were used in newspapers around the world and capture the chaos of the unrest including a now infamous picture of a Tottenham carpet shop consumed by flames. Some of the images were published at the time of the riots, others went initially unpublished, discovered only when Whyld looked back through his work a year later. "It was a protest that got out of hand, and then turned into something very different," Whyld has said of his first hand experience of the riots.
