The aunt in the Menier Chocolate Factory's staging of Travels With My Aunt isn't played by a lady, instead four male actors (David Bamber, Jonathan Hyde, Gregory Gudgeon and Iain Mitchell) play a wide variety of characters in Giles Havergal's stage adaptation of Graham Greene's novel, including Aunt Augusta. This "quaintly dated comedy" (Lyn Gardner, The Guardian) directed by Christopher Luscombe is "high-definition acting at its most enjoyable" writes Charles Spencer in The Telegraph. It "glows with warmth and wit" and is "a real pick-me-up" The Telegraph theatre critic concludes.

About Menier Chocolate Factory

Housed in a former chocolate factory, this innovative theatre has rapidly established itself as one of London's best. Since opening in 2004, it has had half-a-dozen West End transfers, most of them slick revivals of recent plays and musicals, including Merrily We Roll Along, A Little Night Music, Sunday in the Park With George, Dealer's Choice, and Little Shop of Horrors.
