Wael Shawky: al-Qurban Marking his first major exhibition in London, Wael Shawky premieres his new film, Al Araba Al Madfuna II, which uses children shown with adult voices and dress to reenact Egyptian parables in a way that leaves the stories open to interpretation. Like the Chapman brothers, whose Come and See exhibition runs concurrently at the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, the award-winning Egyptian artist uses models and marionettes to retell myths, stories and historical events.

About Serpentine Gallery

Found in the middle of leafy Kensington Gardens and Hyde Park, there are two galleries that go by the name of The Serpentine, the original Serpentine Gallery, established in 1970, and the Serpentine Sackler Gallery, designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, a 5 minute walk away across The Serpentine Bridge, was added in 2013.
