Zaha Hadid: Early Paintings and DrawingsThe Serpentine Sackler Gallery hosts a tribute exhibition to Dame Zaha Hadid this December. Already in the planning, the exhibition has been brought forward after the architect's unexpected death in March and will feature rarely seen notebook drawings and early paintings. Suitably hosted by one of Zaha Hadid Architects' first permanent buildings in central London, the exhibition reveals that the late architect was also an artist and focuses on her early works before her first building was erected in 1993. A select number of institutions and museums across the world will also join in on the timely homage.

About Serpentine Sackler Gallery

The Serpentine Gallery made a significant expansion in September 2013, restoring a former gunpowder depot not far from its original gallery in Kensington Gardens. The Magazine, a Palladian style villa built in 1805 to store arms, has been restored to a design by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Zaha Hadid into an exciting new 900 metre square gallery space.
