Visitor Information
Housed in the Old Town Hall (built in 1893), the Museum of Richmond displays models and dioramas as well as an interesting collection of items relating to the historic Richmond area. Hands-on activities and free activity sheets keep children engrossed while adults enjoy their visit. Highlights of the collection include a Workhouse Clock made in 1819, the 1891 Borough Charter and Topham's Box dating to around 1895 - a box designed by Fred Topham, a glassbower and an employee of Jodrell Laboratory Kew Gardens which led to the development of rayon. Exhibitions change every few months so that all interests are catered for, be they archaeology, history or art.
