This museum houses a private collection of artefacts from the Thames foreshore in Rotherhithe.
The story of Rotherhithe is told through its unique collection, which ranges from dockers' tools, Elizabethan cannonballs, human skulls, jewellery, coins and clay pipes, to some Peek Freans memorabilia - including a 6' replica of Queen Elizabeth II's wedding cake.
There is a full educational service for groups and schools, as well as local history walks, hands-on displays and a permanent exhibition - `Blitz...A Front Room' - in the large hall area.
