Always a popular hangout with the South Kensington locals, The Devonshire Arms had a fresh lick of paint in 2014 and emerged with its proper pub credentials intact, much to the relief of real beer fans. The bar caters for all drinkers with regularly-changing real ales, different beers and lagers on tap and a great wine list behind the exposed brick bar. Decor wise, oxblood leather sofas, opulent crystal chandeliers and duck egg walls are a nod to the member's clubs in the area - the pub is tucked away on Marloes Road, a stone's throw from the boutique-lined streets of smart South Kensington. The garden - one of the only beer gardens in the area - can be covered so drinks can be enjoyed al fresco whatever the weather. Unpretentious pub grub includes modern classics like chicken and ham hock pie with mash, or pork and chorizo burger with caramalised red onion and fries. Perfect-with-a-pint bar snacks include Gloucester Old Spot sausage rolls and homemade fish fingers with tartare sauce. The Breakfast of Champions on the Saturday brunch menu is ideal for sharing with its double dose of sausages, bacon and black pudding, served in a cask iron pan while Sunday roasts come with all the trimmings, best enjoyed with a Bloody Mary.
