Handel House, a beautifully restored Georgian house in Mayfair, is where the baroque composer George Frideric Handel lived and died. It was here that he wrote masterpieces such as Messiah, Zadok the Priest and Fireworks Music. Today, the townhouse has been restored and converted into a museum, which also offers live music performances. The museum offers insight into Handel's life, 18th century culture and music. Every Saturday, Handel House offers free drop-in family events where visitors can find out more about the house, try on Georgian costumes and enjoy craft activities. The Museum also has a small Jimi Hendrix photographic exhibition. Hendrix lived in the adjoining house at 23 Brook Street from 1968-69, which the museum also occupies.Handel House Museum images
