Poké, the Hawaiian raw fish dish that's similar to sushi, is the hero ingredient at the casual all-day Ahi Poké restaurant on Percy Street. The 25-cover restaurant is Hawaiian beach shack meets LA poké bar with driftwood among the bright white and nautical blue and azul hues. It's bright, spacious, and calming - just like the Big Sur where classically trained chef Jeremy Coste, Gabriel Cohen-Elia and David Bellaiche, the team behind Mayfair's North Audley Cantine (NAC) and Chez Chow researched the concept. Offering eat in, grab and go, and delivery, Ahi Poké appeals to the 'clean eating' tribe with raw ingredients used to make bowls of Oahu (sticky rice, Ahi tuna, red onion, radish, coriander and sesame shoyu) and Heat Wave (quinoa, salmon, avocado, kimchee cucumber, red onion and siracha mayo). But the real appeal is that you can build your own bowl by selecting a base (quinoa, sticky rice, or red kale), a protein (ahi tuna, the fish used in poké; mahi mahi or salmon), a sauce and toppings. Soft drinks come in the form of homemade iced teas and there's a soft-serve ice cream machine for afters.
