Creating superior Spanish tapas in London since 2007, Barrafina Coal Drops Yard, opened in 2018, is the fourth in the group and the biggest to date. With 40 covers and a private dining room for 24, the Coal Drops Yard restaurant makes the most of the counter seating. Perched on bar stools around a beautiful, marble-topped counter, every leather bound seat offers a prime view of the open kitchen. But, for the first time, there are three lower-level tables to accommodate wheelchair users. The menu of authentic Spanish tapas dishes has been put together by executive head chef, Angel Zapata Martin, who worked at Can Fabes, the first three Michelin Star restaurant from a Catalan chef. Small plates of Pyrenean lamb cutlets, cuttlefish 'a la bruta' and sea cucumber with chicken oysters are on the menu along with a daily changing whole fish. Owned and operated by restaurateurs Sam and Eddie Hart, there are three further Barrafinas in London - in Soho as well as on Adelaide Street and Drury Lane, both in Covent Garden.
