Swapping the streets of Spitalfields for south London, twin brothers Livio and Lorenzo Belpassi give us a permanent version of their much-loved meatball truck. Sticking with their philosophy of simplicity and quality ingredients, the 40 cover Belpassi Bros restaurant and bar in Tooting is just a few miles from where they started. The bricks and mortar site follows a series of creative collaborations including a month-long House of Peroni pop-up, a partnership with The Doodle Bar, and a menu within Bites, Camera, Action Union Street Cafe. Expanding their business from a vintage 1967 Fiat van at Old Spitalfields Market, the Tooting restaurant menu is all about the meatballs - their classic beef and pork meatball - and homemade sauces, served in a sandwich or on a base of polenta or homemade pasta. You can also choose from a selection of cicchetti, salumi and sandwiches, plus daily specials and desserts - all inspired by the brothers' knowledge of the Italian kitchen inherited from their Italian father.
