David Lesniak and David Muniz, the owners of American bake shop the Outsider Tart on Chiswick High Road, have expanded into the shop next door to create soul food joint Blue Plate. Expect authentic, soulful southern cooking. Sample menus are due anytime now but , as a tantilising taster, they are enticing us in with suggestions of Scrapple, a Builder's Benedict, Hangtown Fry, and Migas - an egg-and-tortilla brunch concoction and a hugely popular homey dish from Mexico. A takeaway service is also available. If you've been to one of the Outsider Tart Thursday chili nights (don't worry, these are still carrying on) you'll know that these guys are the real deal.
