Two years on from the ramen boom of 2012, when Bone Daddies ramen bar arrived in Soho with a bang, Bone Daddies comes to Kensington with a concession within Whole Foods Market on Kensington High Street. For the first time, Ross Shonhan, chef proprietor of Bone Daddies and Flesh & Buns, gives us his signature ramen and buns on the same menu. Prior to launching the Bone Daddies family Ross Shonhan held head chef positions and top Japanese restaurants Nobu, Dallas and Zuma, London. But at Bone Daddies there's a far more casual approach. Here you're positively encouraged to slurp up hearty, delicious and terribly naughty bowls of thick noddle soup and enjoy great bowls full of curry ramen. There are also chashu pork, jalapeno and cheese croquettes to snack on as well as gyoza filled with chicken and prawn and pork and truffle. Buns appear on the menu as 'tiger eating...' - the literal translation of 'hirata' - with dishes like Tiger eating chilli chashu pork served assembled, as opposed to DIY style at Flesh & Buns. To finish, try soy caramel filled chocolate fondant served with green tea ice cream.
