Following the success (see queues) of the original Burger & Lobster in Mayfair, opened in December 2011, the guys behind Goodman's steakhouses set up a second, larger restaurant in Soho in July 2012. And, Burger & Lobster fans rejoice, they're also opening a third on St John Street in Farringdon (on the Bistro du Vin site) before the year is out. If you've been to the Mayfair restaurant you'll be glad to hear the menu is largely the same - lobster, lobster roll or burger. But the main difference is that the Soho restaurant is double the size with a bigger bar area and a bit down the back which can be booked. Given the queues at the Burger and Lobster in Mayfair, being able to book at the larger Soho and (in future) Farringdon outlets is welcome news. Once inside, the restaurant appeals with its red leather seating, wooden flooring and lobster tanks where you can see your seafood, tagged with its weight, for which you pay by the pound. At the bar you can get draft beers and cocktails listed under B(urger) and L(obster) so you can choose which to have depending on what's on your plate. Watch this space for more information on the opening of the Burger & Lobster in Farringdon which will be at 38-42 St John Street, possibly as a pop up in October 2012.
