Urban Leisure Group, owners of Graphic in Golden Square and The Adelaide in Primrose Hill, are opening a brasserie, Central & Co, above the bar they previously ran on this Great Marlborough Street site, 22 Below, which is now closed. Starting from scratch with Central & Co they have created a brand new basement bar and ground floor brasserie where the emphasis is on British-sourced produce. Head chef Matt West heads up the kitchen which is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The drinks on offer include a strong wine list - with bottles on display in the refrigerated wine wall behind the bar - and includes sparkling wines from across the world with some English and even Japanese varieties added to the French bins on offer. There are sparkling cocktails and sparkling wines served by the glass. Interiors designed by 44th Hill and I Love Dust make use of ceiling high brass fridges and art deco lighting in the ground floor restaurant while brass chandeliers, marble tables and vintage wall lights give the feeling of an intimate club downstairs.
