The original Smokehouse in Islington has been a huge hit and in 2015 Neil Rankin - who learnt his trade at Barbecoa and Pitt Cue Co. - partnered with Noble Inns to bring the second installment to Chiswick. With all that smoking and barbeque-ing, they've built a dedicated smoking shed at Chiswick Smokehouse for an 'Ole Hickory Pit Smoker' and Robata grill where dishes like rock oysters with beef dripping, burnt leeks with slow cooked egg, and smoked lamb shoulder with polenta and raclette are cooked. Part pub, part restaurant, the dining room can seat up to 50 and walk in tables are available in the pub and garden. There's also a clubby whisky room with "dark, oak paneled walls adorned with antler and roe deer heads, leather wingback chairs and an open fire" where you can sample more than 100 varieties of whisky. Also on the drinks list are European wines focused on small growers and a large selection of craft beer - hell, you can even get your beer smoked; try a bottle Beavertown Smogrocket with your shortrib bourguignon, brewed right here in London town.
