Chef Victor Garvey "shone like a good deed in a naughty world" (Evening Standard) at his previous place, the well received Bravas Tapas at St Katharine Docks. Branching out on his own, Encant in Covent Garden draws on Victor's Spanish childhood but with the tastes and influences of his travels, working in restaurants around the world, thrown in. Specialising in 'modern tapas', options include cured salmon ruluda with crisp sweet potato, red onion escabeche and wasabi aioli. These are served a warm, welcoming 26-seat room designed by Matteo Bianchi, close to the Covent Garden Piazza, where diners can make their way through all-Spanish wine list, available by the glass and bottle, and see the chefs preparing dishes like Iberico pork belly with piquillo pepper glaze in the open kitchen.
