"This is like an invitation to my house", Alan Yau told the Financial Times before the launch of Park Chinois . "Only dishes that are dear to my heart are on this menu." Spread over two levels, his glamorous Mayfair restaurant is evocative of a 1920s dance hall with music that's a mixture of the Cotton Club meets Japanese haiku. There are five sections to the menu - Peking Duck, Commence, First, Second, and Vegetable. Head chef Lee Liang presents dishes of double boiled chicken soup with angelica and Shaoxing wine, Kamchatka king crab with homemade rice noodle, and udon, pancetta, sea urchin with egg. High tea is a meal in itself with Italian pastry chefs putting together rows of sandwiches made with homemade bread, perfect patisseries and the best scones you'll ever eat.
