Serving up an unusual selection of burgers - filled with fried egg and peanut butter, or Nik Naks and pastrami - as well as other US diner classics Radicals and Victuallers is a fun diner/bar on Islington's busy Upper Street. With a natty interior - think reclaimed wood and curved banquettes at the back - and a secret side garden, this place encourages customers to settle in and enjoy a bowl of chorizo mac 'n' cheese washed down with a beer, wine or whatever you fancy - they do a good line in homemade cocktail concoctions. A mixture of restaurant-style tables and high stools cater for everything from a post-work tipple to a full on feast, and the courtyard al fresco area, with its canopy of fairy lights, makes for a fun open air option - with heaters to ward off the frost on winter nights.
