A year after opening his first restaurant, Victor Garvey opens his third London site. Bigger than his first site, modern Spanish restaurant Encant, Rambla on Dean Street in Soho follows the launch of his wine and cheese bar Sibarita in Covent Garden. With sixty covers over two floors the interior, designed by Rees Associates, is light and atmospheric, reminiscent of Barcelona's elegant-but-casual beachfront restaurants. Taking its name from Barcelona's famous thoroughfare La Rambla, where Victor lived as a child, the food focuses on Catalan cuisine . Divided into three sections, the menu includes Cru - raw and cured; Mar - seafood; and Muntanya - mountains with Bocatta de Butifarra Negra, or Catalan black pudding sandwich, as one of the options. Rambla opens in phases with the ground floor opening in October 2017 and initially for dinner only. The basement will open and hours be extended to include lunchtime in the coming weeks.
