Street food sandwiches by Sub Cult, famed for its USA deli-style sub rolls, are served from a shipping container site on Whitecross Place, just off Finsbury Avenue Square in Broadgate, for an 18-month pop-up from summer 2017. Previously at Maltby Street, Leather Lane and Brockley markets, Sub Cult founders Ben Chancellor and Gareth 'Gaz' Phillips have built up a loyal following. Many have fallen for their stuffed sandwiches, filled with oak smoked salmon, peppered cream cheese and Pama beetroot kimchi in the Skandi Sub and with smoked back bacon, white pudding and free range egg in the Sub Contractor. Vegan and vegetarians are also catered for - their Subterranean was named 'Best Vegetarian' at the British Street Food Awards in 2015. Quality grab-and-go subs for breakfast and lunch served in Finsbury Avenue Square alongside four other containers that also opened in summer 2017, Wolf, Claw Food, BaBa G's and Yolk.
