Cultivated from a cutting of Chelsea original, The Botanist blooms in Broadgate Circle taking full advantage of its al fresco terrace. Inside it's all oxidised copper, brass and gold, curiosity cabinets, Victorian-style bell jars and oddities like an alligator hovering above the large, central bar. Discerning drinkers can perch on the leather high stools surrounding it or descend the grand staircase into the Soda Room - Broadgate Circle's only late-night drinking den. Food starts with choices of herring roes on toast with chilli, tuna tartare, or lamb breast. Mains are a mix of seasonal salads and house specials including a changing pie-of-the-day while signature dishes include Iberico pork shoulder with almonds, crab linguine drizzled with chilli oil, and corn-fed chicken breast served with black truffle tagliatelle, broad beans and morels. Weekends at Broadgate bring a laid-back bottomless brunch featuring soft-shell crab, Wiener schnitzel, avocado and chilli on toast with smoked bacon, or burger with smoked Cheddar. Enjoy with unlimited prosecco, mimosas, bloody Marys and house wine for an extra £15.
