After two years trading in street food markets all over London from KERB to Street Feast, The Good Egg has found a permanent home in Grade II listed building in Stoke Newington in Hackney. An all-day neighbourhood restaurant with culinary roots in Tel Aviv, California and Montreal, it was founded by Joel Braham, alongside baker Oded Mizrachi and chefs Alex Coppard and Myles Broscoe. All have been inspired by their childhoods and travels - from the distinctive bagels and cured meats of Myles' home town in Mile End district of Montreal; the stuffed pitas and bright, fresh flavours Oded remembers from Tel Aviv; and the street-side crispy fried chicken and chilaquiles Joel ate in California. These food memories translate into dishes like the juicy short-rib pastrami, sliced by hand at the table, The Good Egg Burger, with an aged beef and bone marrow patty topped with pickled onion, and all-day brunch feasts - where the menu includes cocktails, fresh juices and sharing plates of shakshuka with preserved lemon yoghurt, homemade bagels with smoked black cod and salmon, eggs rothko, challah french toast and date syrup.
