Following the influx of American burger chains opened in London, it's now time for hot dogs to take the limelight. Opened in June 2015, Top Dog in Soho is London's first US-style hot dog joint, serving custom hot dogs, hot fries and cold shakes. Matt Hermer - the man behind Boujis, Eclipse and Bumpkin - and his American wife Marissa are behind the restaurant, as well as Fortnum & Mason CEO, Ewan Venters. With seven options to choose from, the dogs are organic in order to follow the current interest in healthy eating, using fresh high quality ingredients. Options include the Soho Dog, Kimchi Dog and Pulled Pork 'n' Slaw Dog, with 'side cars' of rapeseed-cooked, skin-on sweet potato fries, slaw and chilli. Artisan ice-cream shakes and floats include salted caramel and Jack Daniels flavours. Ingredients are British but the interior is all American, championing the US revel biker culture of the 1950s.
