Trawler TrashAt 205 Upper Street, where fish and chips has been served for over 50 years, Trawler Trash is re-invigorating the great British tradition with a menu devised around the 'trash' - or less well known fish - of the trawler men. They use the treasures of the sea - pilchards, coley, sprat, grey mullet and crayfish - that often get disregarded to make spiced curries and seafood pastas as well as traditional British fish dishes. Beetroot cured ling served on rye toast with pickled beetroot, grey mullet escadeche with carrots, and kipper carbonara with peas and rocket are just three of the choices you may be given, depending on the catch of the day. The 50 cover restaurant with theatre kitchen is from Fork and Blade, the people behind The Black Penny in Covent Garden and Firedog in Fitzrovia, so you can expect white-washed walls, abstract art, exposed brickwork, marble, polished concrete and a cocktail bar at the back.
